| With an active family, Ledger had been shown only occasionally. Cathy Ceely put a major on Ledger, and Kathy Babbitt put a 2 point WD/BOW on Ledger ... otherwise, he had been trained and beautifully presented by Mary Leahy. By early Fall, Ledger needed 4 points to finish his Championship. In September 2009, at the Gig Harbor Kennel Club shows, Mary had a conflict, and neither Cathy nor Kathy were available to handle ... so, Dayna had to take Ledger into the ring as an owner handler. The first day was an enormous thrill ~ Dayna went Winners Dog AND Best of Winners under well-known Breeder-Judge Mr. George Murray for 2 points. WOW. Then, on Sunday, much to her delight, Dayna went Winners Dog again for another 2 points. Dayna was so beside herself, she did not realize that finished Ledger ... getting no photo for the NEW CHAMPION. So, we all gathered in Ridgefield at the Vancouver Kennel Club show weekend to have this photo taken. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family for Ledger ... he is truly blessed as well. Mary Leahy is an EXCELLENT professional handler and I highly recommend her. That said, I think Dayna may be bringing on some stiff competition from the Owner-Handler position :) I love this photo of the whole family ... it would have been PERFECT with two more people: Cathy Ceely & Kayla Gohman Ledger needs only 4 points to finish his CKC Championship, making him a Triple Conformation Champion. Ledger and Dayna have 2 legs toward his Rally Novice title and are training in obedience ~ Dayna has impressive goals for them as a team. Ledger will be available at stud upon completion of his health testing. Contact Kathy Babbitt @ 253.312.4839, or katoba@comcast.net |

| When I took the little red-hared girl to Texas to her home with Elaine and Oz, I have the privilege of being asked to show Oz as a Special. He had not been in the ring in nearly a year, nor had he been conditioned physically. Nevertheless, I was thrilled to be asked and proud of his eagerness to perform again. We did not go Best of Breed, but he was a crowd favorite amongst his "fans". His last stack photo was taken at just 22 months of age, so we decided to have a podium photo taken so we could update his "pix". He is growing up quite nicely. Elaine trains weekly in several activities with Oz, including agility and obedience. But his latest and favorite passion is that of TRACKING. His trainer and partner is Sandra Shaner, who believes he has quite a flare for this sport. The tracking photos below were taken by Elaine Richman. Oz has completed most of his health testing and is available at stud to approved bitches. Contact Kathy Babbitt @ 253.312.4839, or katoba@comcast.net |
