"Katoba"
(pronounced "kay-toe-buh")
"Katoba" is a combination of our names ~ Kathy (ka-) and Todd (-to-) Babbitt (-ba).
Interestingly enough, it is also a city in Africa ... who knew?!?

We met in 1979, both attending Enumclaw High School, and dated as teenagers.
Todd graduated high school in 1981, attended college, and continued working in Emergency Services.
Kathy graduated high school in 1982, had a family of four fabulous children, (Katie, Kandis, KevinJohn & Kristin),
before attending and graduating college ... some 20 years later.
Todd & Kathy reunited as adults and married on Friday, the 13th of August, 1993.

Kathy has garnered recognition as a personal/patient care facilitator of almost 25 years;
working as a Licensed Full Service Cosmetologist, Certified Lifeguard & Aquatics Instructor, Certified Nursing Assistant,
dental treatment coordinator, and Nationally Certified Emergency Medical Technician.
Kathy's professional focus has now solidified itself in private practice, as an Alternative Wellness Specialist & Licensed Massage Practitioner.

Kathy's enjoys photography; an occasional musical venue as vocalist; and is working on a series of children's books.
Her true passion, however, exists with her dogs ~
Katoba Dobermans.
As breeder/owner/handler, Kathy has bred two doberman litters under the "Katoba" prefix.
The first litter was
Am/Can/Int'l CH Electron's High Roller "Carson" x AKC Mjr Ptd/Can/Int'l CH Sudahr's Raindance "Echo".
That litter produced 5 puppies - 1 black bitch and 4 black dogs.
That litter garnered, to date: 4 IABCA Champions; 3 CKC Championships; 3 AKC pointed; 2 AKC Canine Good Citizens; 1 personal therapy/service dog,
multiple Puppy Best In Show, Best Puppy In Specialty Show, Best In Sweepstakes, Best In Specialty Sweepstakes,
and Best Bred By Exhibitor in Breed/Group & Show honors.
Her second breeding was
CH Tijac's Classic Topp Model "Gunther" x AKC Mjr Ptd//Can/Int'l CH Sudahr's Raindance CGC "Echo".
TWELVE puppies - 3 bitches and 9 dogs - whelped on March 4, 2007.
To date, that litter has produced 7 IABCA Champions, 2 AKC Major pointed,  1 CKC Champion, 4 CKC pointed, 6 AKC Canine Good Citizens,
multiple Best In Show puppies & Best In Show Bred By exhibitor puppies, Multi Best of Breed, multi bred By Exhibitor Best of Breed & Group,
multiple AKC & CKC Reserve Winners.
At the end of the day though .  .  .  .  .  the dogs favorite toy is still .  .  .  .  .  Todd.

"I want to be a rock star", is a phrase that is repeated in the Babbitt home, while Todd and 'Greta' spend hours 'making music together'.
Todd's "officially untrained" ... but his amazing natural abilities with a guitar have been compared to the likeness of some of the 'greats'.
Nevertheless, even though Todd's musical talents with a guitar have received recognition in his work as a national recording artist . . .
. . . Kathy still expects him to have a 'day job' :).
Todd has been in the pre-hospital emergency medical field for nearly 27 years.
During that time, he has worked as a firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician, medic in the private sector, and an instructor.
Todd solidified his career as a "Prehospital Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic" with King County Medic One.
As such, Todd and those he works with, are acknowledged as the most highly trained paramedics ... worldwide.

Our weekdays are long and the weekends are usually consumed with dog-related events and family time.
Enjoy being 'on the water' during summer, and 'in the snow' during winter ...
... but, a good movie ~ a good meal ~ good music ~ and "a good memory made" .  .  .  remains the 'timeshare of choice'.
