Under the Miss ~ eltoe

Tyler and i did not attend the dog show today. We went yesterday, but quite frankly, I do not have it in me to go today ~ it was a bit too soon after Logan died and it took
all the focus I had to keep from crying and hold a solid friendly face. Besides, Cathy Ceely (Tyler's handler), is hurt and wanted me to show Tyler ~ but, Tyler does NOT
show for me. So, overall, what is the point of going through that again today? I would rather take the limited energy I have today and fight off the enemy-cold that is
attacking me with the warmth of my cuddly dogs, and find some fun and laughter in the antics of the puppies ;). Now THAT is healing medicine.
It is 'beyond cold' ... in the mid-20's this morning. Everything is frozen over ... and the wind is biting.
The puppies went out for a very early morning potty, but had NO intention of staying out in the frigid air ... they ran back in faster then they went out.
For this I am grateful, since it is still only 4:45am. Now, I am going to snuggle with Misty and Soleil, and go back to sleep for awhile.

Sleep time is OVER as the pups have awakened for the day. SInce
the pups usually eat their meals outside, I was thinking about the
fact that today the food may FREEZE ... so I put all the food on
one dish again, and even THAT didn't work ... the food froze to the
bottom of a big pan. A few gave it their best shot before running
around to keep warm and then coming inside to eat.

The pups ran and ran ... the
thermometer read 26 degrees,
and the wind chill factor took that
far lower. But, the babies refused
to come back inside until they got
in a good run & chase.

The big game of the morning turned out to be "Twig-Tug".
Zzzen, Violet, and Soleil found... or should I say ... stumbled upon a fallen twig
that was frozen over with moisture. This became today's BIG PRIZE. They
grabbed ahold of it and ran ... and tugged ... and growled ... and pulled at that
twig until they had covered every inch of ground in the backyard.
Finally, exhausted ... they all tumbled over each other, the twig was broken, and
then retreated back into the warm house.

It has been icy cold all day long,so the pups have had a lot of indoor playtime, as opposed to backyard romping. My stuffy nose has morphed into a full-blown
totally consuming viral-crud-invasion, so I have 'less than zero' energy ... and the pups know it. I lay on the sofa all bundled up, watching them turn the living room
into a plush toy war zone, until they began to pile on top of me for a "group nap". The four girls decided this was a great idea, and became a 160 pound blanket
within minutes. Zzzen took over a dog bed on the floor for himself, and was also snoring almost immediately. Although I now seem to be "sick-as-a-dawg" now, this
was a moment of total enjoyment. Our "nap" lasted for more than an hour, and I couldn't let it slide by without a few photos, right ?
