Under the Miss ~ eltoe

This morning I decided it was time to take out the ear posts and see just how long the ears would stand until I had to repost. Would it be minutes, hours ... or could I
leave them until i got home from work. Since I had less than 2 hours before I had to leave for work ... the test would be a short one. Whomever was still standing at
least half-mast in 90 minutes got to be free from the posts until I got home ... it was, after all, only a half day for me.
By the time I had to leave, I had done a simply tape to Soleil (who has an absolutely gorgeous long crop) and to Zzzen - whose nice think leathers are fairly heavy.
The rest of the kids get a free-be until I return ... then those ears go right back up !!! :)
By the time I got home, Louis had arrived for his re-posting - his ears look GREAT - and have thick and heavy leathers.
This was his last full re-post, next week just two tapes ... but this week he at least is free from the 'connector' tape in the middle as they stand fine, (black collar, below).
All the other puppies got a quick bath and i washed their collars, letting them dry while i left..
Soleil FINALLY got a new collar today as well - she had outgrown her yellow collar and I had been unable to find another "yellow".
Since I ALWAYS keep their same colors throughout their lives, she has been naked since then ... I had hoped to find one with "suns" on it, but I searched to no avail.
Finally, today, a gold/yellow toned leopard print collar, that suits her to a tee, will be worn on her lovely neck, (see tomorrows photos).

My puppy scale only weighs to 45 pounds ... and given the looks of things, I would say that in-house
weights will only continue for another week or so ... then we will make the trip to "All Creatures Animal
Hospital" to check the weights weekly ... or I will have to buy a bigger scale :).
The pups are PERFECT ... right where they should be at this age. I attribute that to the predictability
and quality of the raw foods diet & the added b-naturals supplements.
The ears did well throughout the day. With limited time, I felt the ears would be fine over night if I did
just a simple taping for a bit of support. This morning, without any posting, Erica and Violet stood
without fail; Soleil's leathers are a bit more delicate, where Zzzen's are very heavy and both drooped at
about half-mast. This is to be expected at this stage what with teething and all; Breeze was a 50/50 -
one ear up and one ... noy so much :). I am told Braun's are doing well, being posted by Dr. Jessica
Wilcock, DVM. I have no word on Mischief's this week - but they stood beautifully for hours prior to
having to be posted my last time before leaving Texas. They should be doing beautifully now, as they
are being posted by Dr. Kathy McLemore, DVM.
