Under the  Miss ~ eltoe
The ongoing photo journal of Katoba Dobermans' 2009 "Miss & Mister" Litter   ~   DPCA Futurity Nominated for 2010
Katoba's Emerald Downs CGC RN
                          smiled on us
today. His bright sunshine
lifter our spirits a bit and saw
to it that the puppies were
warm enough to go back
outside to run and play and
chase and hunt. The pain of
losing Logan has impacted us
all, including the pups, who
played with her nearly every
day. Thank you, Lord, for the
"brightening" today.
Uncle
Cahill got us all the usual 4:20am wake up call ... thank you, dear boy :)
It took awhile for us to get moving today as it is still a bit sad around here; I am not up to par (please do NOT let me get the flu); and Todd is still at work.
Once up, it was just bright enough to take a few pictures of the dogs out in the "" way-too-cold-to-be-takin-pictures-weather".
It is indeed VERY cold this morning ... high 20's ... yes ~ TWENTIES ... on my back porch ~ and the chill shows in the body language of all the dogs.
And the hard crunch of the frosty ground SHOULD have been snow ... but it is in fact too COLD to snow.
All of my dogs have loved the snow so I am very much looking forward to seeing if this litter will as well.
Anyway, the puppies insisted on going outside with Misty and Echo, and soon decided it was just a bit too chilly to play outside for very long.
Echo and Misty gave it what they could, but they are just too smart to stay out in the BELOW freezing weather ... especially since there is no snow.
"... the children were nestled all snug in their beds ... while visions of sugarplums danced in their heads ..."
Later, in the afternoon ...
I decided it would be best to take everyone back inside once they had all done what they needed to do out in the fridged air.
So, I opened the back door, and like a herd of elephants, they pounded through the dog room, up the steps, down the hall and into the living room.
Most of them SLID to a stop, piling upon each other, as we have that nasty Pergo flooring and some tile.
That stuff is TREACHEROUS for dogs ...
... they slip, they fall, and they cannot walk without holding themselves in an awful position to maintain traction on ... nothing.
I HIGHLY recommend AGAINST it. I do have several rugs, but not enough to cover the WHOLE floor ...
... and if you are going to cover the WHOLE  floor ... why not just have CARPETING  ?!?!?!?!
Thank GAWD my dogs have the shortest of toenails ... I cannot STAND the sound of a dogs feet with toenails.
One of God's better ideas: The Dremel
The next 2 hours was a LOT of fun though as they played, wrestled, tugged, and taunted Echo and Misty.
It didn't take long for them to tire out and take over the living room as their "bedroom".
Cahill is a bold young man who rarely gets to play with the puppies
simply because he is so strong and doesn't realize the pups are
REAL and not just moving toys. hahaha. Today he went out and sat,
patiently, with me while in the crisp cool morning sun. I took these
photos of Cahill watching and following the pups and thought I would
share them on this page.
