After attending the dog show in Ridgefield today, I got a phone call saying the Pelton's were ready to come and get their WONDERFUL Louis.
While thrilled for the Pelton Family ... and for Louis ... my heart pinched and ached, and my head & stomach felt woozie.
I drove home like a streak of lightening, so as to get as much time with Louis as i could.
The weather was yucky, and trying to get a stack photo of him was nearly impossible because he just wanted to play and be snuggled.
He KNEW something big was coming ... he could sense my ill-at-ease.
I got his crating stuff, his food, his paperwork, his favorite blanket, his shredded favorite toy, his puppy packet, and made sure he was wearing his "bad to the bone" collar.
I cried and played and snuggled with him, then ... when the rain let up a little, I took them all outside so he could have a GREAT romp with his litter-mates.

The moment finally arrived ... and so did the Pelton's.
We signed all the paperwork, and I showed them everything in the
packet ... and then wrote out the EXACT diet AGAIN.
It is easy IF you do NOT try to "reinvent the wheel" ~
just follow instruction, pay attention to WHO your pup is,
and it will be a Wonderful experience.
I held my emotions together until they left ... barely ...
but, I even had to get a photo of them driving away.
My heart tells me this is a GREAT mix.
"Louis, my love, the next week will be torture without your sweet face
and your "peace-keeping abilities".

What ever will I do ... without my Louis-Lou?

Slam on the breaks ... following too close behind ... EEK ...
... tires screachinggggggg........
BAMMMMM!
Now THAT is going to leave a mark!

I will miss you, my Wonderful boy ... You are a true gift from God.

Louis will be shown by his breeder to his AKC, IABCA, ans CKC Championships. He will be trained and titled by Clare, in competitive obedience and therapy/service
work for Sara. Josh will be making sure Louis has a best friend and a good example to follow. And daddy-Dave, will do what all great dads do best:
make sure all goes smoothly ... and be Louis' biggest toy!!!
