"... hey, it's good ... to be back home again ..."  ~  John Denver
The vonWillebrand's DNA test results came in today ~ Mr B is a Carrier, and with Misty being genotypically affected,
the litter had a 50/50 affected-to-carrier possibility.
This turned out to be a 4:5 ratio with 4 Affected and 5 Carriers.
Luckily, we have no Clinically Affected bleeders ~ proven both in bloodwork, and in actual surgical results,
having successfully gone through the tail docks, dew claw removals, ear crops ...
... and even an open-abdominal/intestinal surgery ~ all PRIOR to knowing the DNA lab results.
Although I would like to see all CLEARS in my house, vWd is not a rule out when considering a breeding that is otherwise very promising.
The 4 non-clinical affecteds are: Mischief, Breeze, Louis, and Zzzen.
The 5 Carriers are: Violet, Erica, Soleil, Rhyme, and Braun
This is not at all how it was predicted to present, but I am pleased that we fell reliably into the statistical breakdown, with fewer affected.
This changes, only SLIGHTLY, how my future line-breeding plans will transpire but only by one bitch.
Nevertheless, it is hard to believe the time has gone by so quickly, and that it's time to send the babies off into the 'wild blue yonder'.
I take in each day, looking forward to the future involvement with each dog as I enter the conformation rings with them ...
... and I anticipate the successes that some of the families will have through training and competition in the performance rings.

What a grand adventure it is to become a parent ... of a Doberman :)
In the past week, I have had been overwhelmed with the number of inquiries about Breeze and Zzzen.
Since my email is "iffy" at best - and while I can receive most attachments, (ie: questionnaires),
I would still ask that those who are interested please contact me by phone, at 253.312.4839.
The Divine Nine are back home with their "coneheads" ~ jumping, chasing, playing, bumping into each other ... and regretting it.
They are, nevertheless, healing ... quickly ... and will be ready to "go home" in the next couple of weeks.
I have enjoyed every minute of time I have had with them ... it has gone by far too fast.
Most of them will be going home by the end of the month; Mischief sticking around until mid-November; Zzzen & Breeze holding out for the right homes.
I feel the tears welling up in my eyes just thinking about them leaving ... even though I will be able to see them regularly, it is hard to let them go.
That said, I want to "Thank you" for your interest in these pups ~ and please note:
both of these Doberman puppies need to go to approved Conformation Show homes; BOTH need to be trained in Obedience - especially Zzzen - who shows great
potential for success as competitors; they BOTH - especially Breeze - have the drive and personality that will thrive in the competitive Agility venue.
If you are looking for a couch potato, half-witted, aloof, hodeedoe dog, who is happy being ignored much of the time ... these are NOT the pups you are looking for.
While they do need to go to their forever homes soon, I do not plan to throw them out the door just to get rid of them ~ they deserve so much more!
Zzzen
is magnificent in body, bone, movement, headpiece, and personality who is fancy and bold...
... he has dreamy black eyes, is very focused, is a thinker, and is eager and receptive to learning. I look forward to having him as a stud dog in the future.
Breeze
is a beautiful, driven, bubbly, sweet, fun-loving personality who can back-yard-free-stack 'like nobodies business' ...
... she is outgoing and determined and moves like a dream ... she loves EVERYONE, has presence & style, and she does everything with energy and creativity.

It would be a darn shame for ANY Breeder to let puppies like these go without giving them the best possibility for a rewarding and promising future.
