Braun's recovery is going VERY well. And, he is finding life upstairs with me to be MUCH to his liking. Yes, I am back to sleeping on the sofa, since the living room is the puppy ICU and I do NOT want him to be alone at night. Oh don't get me wrong ... HE would be FINE with me being on the second floor... but I would NOT :). Thanks to the need for additional one on one time, he is now almost fully potty-trained, (*he goes out the door when opened, into the yard, does his business, and we walk back in without issue). Suffice it to say, he has not been permanently slowed down at all by this event. Right now he is wrestling with a bear who is about to loose his stuffing! We has learned where the water bowl is and apparently wants to move it (see below). He is starting to transition back to his normal diet ... and in just three days, on a very bland diet with limited portions - his weight is right back up to 11# 9oz ... exactly what he weighed the day before his surgery. While I know he has a GREAT deal of fun running and playing outside, he is proving to be QUITE a nice companion to have in the house ... typical Dobe male ~ always glued to my side ... er, the side of my FOOT that is! He likes to curl up on a blanket and fall asleep; lay on my lap and watch TV - yes, he really WATCHES. I cannot WAIT to see a photo of Margret holding him in her lap when he is an 85-90 pounder. Bwahahahaha! He loves to snuggle on the dog beds with a stuffy; and he is extremely playful, happy and creative. This is a brave, confident, adorable, sweet, fun pup ~ who brings me great joy EVERY day. Soon he will be gracing his new home & parents with the same kind of happiness. Braun is the first pup I have ever had go through major surgery at 7 weeks; he is the first puppy I have had that was not to cause a credit card to disintegrate before my eyes, and ... the piesta resistance ... Braun is the FIRST 7 week old puppy I have had in my house who will sit, on command, for a cookie.
