As you can see, the pups are growing like weeds. WAIT ... I mean ... WEIGHT: Rhyme is the spoiled diva who hates the morning grind ~ yes, she is one of the girls who feels she should be able to live on boiled chicken breast, chicken backs & an occasional teaspoon of peanut butter. NOT. She is smaller in stature, but has heavy bone, so she can look 'ribby' when she refuses a meal. Violet is now the litter 'heavyweight', but, is truly magnificent. I see BIG opportunities in her future, (no pun intended). Louis is right behind her is weight, and is awesome to look at ... he's a gentle soul in such an impressive body. Breeze & Zzzen stay equal in size right now - not picky and not chow hounds either. Erica, Mischief and Soleil are all close in size and all have lovely angles and good bone but can be distracted from their food if a game of chase or a wrestling match is waiting to break out. Braun weighed in 3rd of the nine - topping 11# 3 oz tat his first follow up appointment today - he is recovering from his surgery with vigor and determination. I think he is loving the one on one attention, but REALLY wishes he could go outside and PLAY with everyone. No worries Braun ... it won't be too much longer. ALL these dogs can be solid conformation competitors, and most show GREAT potential for high-level performance prospectively. Here are a few pix of the kids playing today ...
I just could not get the pups to slow down long enough for any great shots today - it was all play, chase, attack, wrestle, eat pine cones, dig, run, play, chase, and so on ... ... it appears that i got more "puppy butt" shots today than I ever could have planned! :)

Thought it would be a nice day given the weather to do some updated stack photos, taken outside. Click to compare them to weeks 3, 4, 5, and 6. Braun is feeling a bit left out of the fun today & he really seems to be 'feeing' better in conjunction with his awesome surgical recovery. While he cannot run and play in the backyard until after his stitches are out and he is fully healed on the outside, I did choose to let him come out for some fresh air ... and while he was outside, I put him on the table since for a stack photo. Can you believe how great he looks - EVEN THOUGH he JUST had abdominal surgery? I got Todd to take photos, a few of the pups were less than cooperative this time - I find this to be a tough age to get them to stop playing, stop baiting when they "hit flesh", and stay put on the table. Given that the photographer was less than cooperative as well, (it COULD'T be from my bossy instruction, right?), the entire experience was more stack-fiasco than a successful photo-shoot. Oh well ... mama said there'ld be days like these ~ there'ld be days like these mama said ! Started today ... will finish tomorrow. Nevertheless, while they did sprout legs, and i tend to overstack when leggy ... the pups still look amazing. Even to the untrained eye ... the bone, angulation, and balance are clear.
