The puppies are all doing well and are enjoying life at Camp Katoba. The "Puppy Park" is alot of fun but needs to be expanded. I decided that it is almost time for full run of the yard adventures - and we will use the enclosed park for times when the big kids need to run and chase, or when I cannot be out with them. I hate to make them come inside while they are having so much fun - especially when it is so nice out right now. So, this is a perfect set up for all. Some pups are getting too big for the mini-agility equipment but play on it anyway - I think it is a great intro to the real thing later in life. Looks like I may be building more soon. They are all growing and developing beautifully. While a couple of the girls can be finicky about beef, (two would love it if they could live on chicken breast and peanut butter - hahaha), they are not lacking in size. It is normal to have a few days of plateau and then a jump in weight, which is where Erica was, and Rhyme is right now. Then we have the powerhouse boy ... who will never miss a meal ... or "seconds", for that matter. I love to see boys be hearty eaters, as have heard of so many males who are terrible eaters from the get go. Braun is a tank - beautiful and moves like a dream already ... but, boy ... can that dog EAT, (good thing his parents have a BIG, sturdy, well-stocked kitchen - haha). Violet is still as big as her brothers; Erica is ack on the gaining trail; and little Soleil & Mischief have taken a liking to their RAW diet. Contracts have been signed and puppies have been secured. There are just two left unspoken for: one male & one female - both will definitely be placed in conformation show homes. The male needs to go to a strong performance (obedience & agility) home. Of the two black bitches, I still have not decided whether I will be keeping Breeze or Violet. Breeze shows strong potential as an agility prospect. Violet shows great focus for obedience. Both playful and interactive - but two completely different personality types.
Fun Photos of Todays Adventures (to be posted this evening)
The fun and frollick did not end until way into the evening. Even when it was dark, I had to go outside and bring each one in myself ... they just love the outdoors. I tug and play ball with them, their favorite interactive games. "First one to the door" has become the come-inside-and-get-a-treat game. And, "winner winner chicken dinner" has become the chow call. They are a riot and make me laugh so much. They are so beautiful when they are running and chasing through the yard. Misty loves to play "Follow the Leader" with them and all who play find out that mom will still let them nurse when she stops. She is an AWESOME dam - just as we knew she would be.
