| "Happy One Month Birthday" We had to make some name/placement decisions today, in preparation for the vWd tests - which require that the pups have "identification" (name and Reg #). But, first, we had to wait to see which bitch was going to Texas ... "Mischief's" human-mom was the hold up, (hehe). She had laid "claim to the name" weeks ago - when I presented the list to her. Since Elaine Richman lives in Texas and we won't have any photos for awhile, I will devote this paragraph to this union, as I have for the other families thus far :). Elaine lives with a male from my last litter, (Am Int'l CH Katoba's Emerald City CGC, "Oz"), who, since he has finished his conformation Championship, is now training with Elaine in both obedience and agility. He had OUTSTANDING potential, maintains a great work ethic, never forgets anything, and is looking forward to having a new playmate during his non-training moments. In considering another puppy for Elaine, I hoped to find something a bit less 'over the top' than what we had in Oz - Elaine realized early on that the "maximum drive" she demanded the first time around, was actually much different than what she knew to be 'maximum drive' in a male Dobermans ... she was not prepared to handle such potential, but is working on it now. I hoped to have something in this letter that would offer her the specifics she has come to want, without losing the focus, willingness, and maintaining the attitude that is necessary for the show and performance rings.Ms. richman then bumped up the request by stating she hopes for a bitch then can be a Top 20 conformation bitch, and wants her a Top 20 Obedience and agility prospect. GOOD LUCK to that...somemes you just cannot have your cake and eat it too ~ since they are Dobermans ... not Whoppers made to order, (hold the pickle hold the lettuce ... I would simply have to study them and hope for the all arounder. . But, I think we have come as close as possible with this redhead puppy. While she is a totally different type than Oz, I knew, early on, that I thought 'red collar' was best for that situation - she has always been driven, sharp, smart, focused, no nonsense kind of work potential, lively attitude, spirited personality and flare - she will undoubtedly excel in performance venues & will be a head turner in the conformation ring. I learned so much with my last litter - thanks to those who gave SOOOOOO much to educating me - that this time I knew what I was looking at without question. Even so, I had the kitter evaluated by a few people, each of whom look for different things ... only to find I had been right in my own observations. I was thrilled to see that I had been on track ... I will not doubt myself again. SHould have given myself more credit - after all, I observe day and night & know the puppies better than ANYONE else. Red collar puppy girl - now officially "Mischief" ~ will be successful if not broken or personality stifled ... and she will be the hardy and happy playmate Oz deserves to live out his life with. I see future Doberman-wrestling in the Richman house. Mischief comes from some high drive and protective ancestors ~ passing the W.A.E. should occur without issue, so long as she is raised with knowledge and not discouraged from what comes naturally to a properly bred Doberman. She loves people of all ages; she oozes confidence & attitude; and all find her to be a "spitfire" with incredible focus & potential. We are thrilled to announce that Mischief's conformation handler will be Linda George, (Horizon Dobermans), who I am sure will present Mischief's fanciness and charisma beautifully. |

| I am so proud of this litter - they are beautiful, smart, and make me laugh OUT LOUD every day!! Each will be successful - I believe that with my whole heart. Those that have been spoken for have what I feel are integral and devoted homes. Each pup is consistent is type, but each have individual personalities. Misty, their dam, was fairly young, (only 2.5 yrs), when bred and was not campaigned for a Championship in the AKC ring (at her owner's request). I was very fortunate though, that he allowed me to breed her before his name was placed on her papers. THANK YOU, Todd. Misty had so much to offer - both in pedigree and in her excellent physical presentation of the Standard. Mr. B accentuated the positive and gave alot of fancy and bone to the pups. I could not be more pleased. The pups sleeping quarters move from whelp area to puppy pen tomorrow ... mini-agility equipment will be added Thursday ... photos by weeks end. |
