Yesterday was a less active day for most of the
pups; all slept for the majority of the day and when
awake, seemed a bit irritable. Last night they were
very demanding of Misty and were up most of the
night wanting to eat. Longest stretch of sleep last
night: 45 mins. Poor "Moo". Keeping a watchful eye,
I suspected either Misty ate something that was not
in agreement with the pups OR they may be
REALLY growing. The scale was the 'magic mirror',
as, after weigh-ins this morning, it was clearly a
growth issue. For example,
Lt Blue collar girl
gained more than 1/4 pound -  10% body weight
gain in just one day. Today they are funny and
active & quite 'cuddly'. Will weigh again tonight -
with more growth I suspect !

Kathy & Misty
finally get
some rest ...
both 'moms'
heads always
in the
whelping box
First there were the Walton's ...
... then came the Brady's, the Partridge's,
and the Bradford's
(Eight is Enough), and now ...
"The Divine Nine"
Tonight was an adventure ... the puppies had their first "family" visitors: David & Margret Truax.
This little guy has been conformation pick since he leaped out of the womb ~ he is "Mr. B , Jr.",
("M.B.J." to Ms. Ceely). Sometimes you just "know" ... and that is why I knew he would have to
have just THE right home - loving, yet competitive; adventurous but accepting of reality; active
and dedicated t his care, conditioning, training ... and all the rigors that comes with owning a
conformation dog. The Truax's came over today & met the WHOLE "Katoba" family ~ Echo told
them who was really the house boss; Misty loved them & the others all approved of them. I
have liked these two fine folks from the beginning ... and when they fell in love with their little
boy, (originally wanting 'black') ... I knew it was a "good fit". I am thrilled - David & Margret are
a great couple who anticipate having a lot of fun with this dog. David plans to compete with
Braun in the obedience and agility venues - he will "wow" us I am sure! I am very grateful that
this awesome home came along to fulfill the true potential of this very awesome dog!
The Truax's are the first couple to actually meet "their" puppy - it was
very endearing. That said, my heart sank at the reality that the pups
will be leaving in what seems like no time at all. They will be 3 weeks
old tomorrow ~ it feels like they whelped yesterday.
Mid-October will come all too quickly I fear.
