| It was a busy day in "puppyland". The morning weights are listed above. There are very specific personality presentations showing, now that their eyes are open and the world is something they are really interested in. Several have mastered sneaking out of the whelping box, as the front section has not yet been attached; some decided to be "crows" ~ waking up the rest with "yips" and "pouncing". There are several who are very verbal. A couple who are a bit more independent of the pack and more interested in seeking out attention from their dam, or me. There are a few that are VERY assertive eaters. Some dream at each sleep and some seem to sleep silently. Now that they can move on all fours, some are more content to walk a more deliberate, solid line to me ...while others are all about speed, winning ... stumbling all over themselves to be the 'first'. They have begun mouth-play, puppy wrestling, and again, verbal expression. They have started making all the puppy sounds - yipping/yapping, grrrrrrrrrr-ing, and even a full-fledged mini-bark. Some eat until they fall asleep and others each until the well runs dry. Some are precocious, others are thinkers. A few are the first to try without considering the consequences; others wait to see what happens and are then usually more successful when they give an attempt. All want to play with their dam and also with me - very quick to respond to my voice and there is good play drive in this litter already. I will introduce tiny toys today - not sure how much playing they will do at just 2 weeks - but I want to introduce rattle and other sounds and ... I am interested in seeing if the play interest and investigation patterns transfer from dam and me ... to "toys". While their bodies change & develop daily, but there is strong consistency throughout the litter. Tomorrow, weights will show how much they have grown and continued photos will show physical changes. There were a few camera-hogs today, as shown below :) |
