It is Day NINE in the life of the Miss & Mister Litter. They are growing amazingly fast now. Strong, determined and VERY "opinionated". Misty continues her
mothering duties with diligence, affection, and sensibility. Todd puppy-sat today while I got out for a couple hours of errand running, bulk laundry, and well, "air"
outside of the whelpinbox - which is where my head has remained most of the past 9 days. While it was nice to go shopping and be outdoors, it was even better
to get home to Misty, the babies, and the rest of my wonderful family. It rained today, but it did not slow down Misty's exercise and play outside - right now, she
and Tyler are chasing a squirrel up and across the trees in the backyard. Misty is so impressive - I admire her devotion to the pups, but that was expected.
What i had not anticipated was how well she is taking care of herself - it is all the best for the pups to have an emotionally & physically active and happy dam.
The fact that she is 2.5 years old, I believe, has a lot to do with this great behavior.

I have been asked about reading materials aside from the DPCA website.
Well, for starters ... I think that all ... All ... ALL puppy homes should read, study, and OWN this book:
"Puppy Developement: Another Piece of the Puzzle", edited by Pat Hastings & Erin Anne Rouse.
